This pretty, detached cottage, stands on the route of the former Great Western Railway ’Primrose Line’, and is adjacent to the Loddiswell Railway Station, which is now the owners’ home. The Signal Box is an unusual property that offers something special, and just a little bit different. There are superb views through the trees, across the river and to the valley beyond. With direct access to almost 4-acres of outdoor space, there is an extensive network of private footpaths to explore at your leisure. Walkers and dog owners will love the convenience that this stunning property offers.
The building has been extensively renovated and converted into a wonderful property. It has been thoughtfully furnished and well-equipped with an upside down layout and an open plan living space comprising of a kitchen, dining area and a comfortable living area, complete with a cosy wood burner. Nearby there are many historic houses, including Agatha Christie’s Greenway, Saltram and Overbecks, whilst Dartmouth and Totnes both have castles to explore. Close by you will find the South Hams beautiful beaches and some breathtaking coastal paths, including Bantham, Bigbury on Sea, South Milton Sands and Hope Cove. The former stable which served the Manor House dates back to the early 18th century and has been beautifully renovated into a charming retreat, with an open plan living area, decorated with a rustic charm and featuring attractive original beams.

Outside, guests can sit, relax and unwind on the private balcony and enjoy the uninterrupted views of the glistening coast, which captures the offshore islands of Caldey, Worms Head and across the bay towards the Gower Peninsula. The historic walled town of Tenby, famous for its picturesque harbour, narrow cobbled streets and pastel painted Georgian houses, is a 5-minute drive away, or a bracing 30-minute walk along Tenby’s golden beach. A visit to the resort would not be complete with a memorable boat trip to Caldey Island, with its Celtic monastery and Cistercian monks, who have made it a holy island for hundreds of years.

Away from the resort, Pembrokeshire’s historic sites are well worth a visit including Pembroke, Manorbier and Carew castles, as are the numerous charming market towns of Narberth, Haverfordwest and the quaint city of St David’s with its magnificent 12th-century cathedral. The owners offer their guests a free daily session with their dog at Hunsdale Fields. Both 3-acre and 5-acre fields are fully enclosed, where each customer has the exclusive use to let their dog exercise off the lead, without the distractions of other dogs or their owners.

This superbly restored, former estate stone cottage offers excellent terraced holiday accommodation in the heart of the village of Brantingham opposite the picturesque village pond and green. It has modern internal features, including high speed fibre broadband, a bespoke kitchen, feature brick barbecue, patio furniture and sun umbrella for an al fresco meal, wood burning stove and an oak staircase, leading to galleried landing with a desk and views of the village green. It has quality oak furniture, and furnishings created with the help of an interior designer. The property also has special lighting, underfloor heating downstairs and in the bathroom, and provides a lovely base to explore the area from or simply relax in. Luxury toiletries, bathrobes and bed linen are also provided. It benefits from a south-facing garden with built-in barbecue and it is only a short walk to the village pub and restaurant. Hull is only 12 miles away, with its 2017 City of Culture status, museums, Humber Bridge, Hull Truck Theatre and The Deep aquarium. Hull University is only 13 miles away, making Pond View Cottage ideal for parents visiting their children, taster weeks and graduation. Further afield there is Burton Constable Hall, Castle Howard, North York Moors and Xscape Yorkshire (which boasts the country’s biggest real snow slope). York, with its minster, Shambles, museums, nearby Yorkshire Air Museum and boat trips, is 28 miles away. Cyclists and walkers will love the rolling hills and many established walks, including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Coast to Coast cycle route, which are accessed from outside the door.
