    Welcome to Mudhorse Cottage, a beautiful one bedroomed cottage less than a minute’s walk to the beach and the South West coastal path. Mudhorse Cottage has an interesting history, previously being the last Mudhorse Fisherman’s Cottage in the UK, with subtle nods to this reflected throughout including many books detailing the unique thousand-year-old traditional fishing. Completely refurbished in 2022 to a high standard, you enter the porch which has a fabulous map which the owners have thoughtfully plotted out places of interest and great local spots to eat out.
    From here you head into the spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area, the latter being very well equipped. The comfortable dining area opens onto the lounge which has a gorgeous wood burner for winter months. A further snug with sofa bed makes a wonderful reading room or chill space with smart TV and a stunning stained-glass window depicting the last Mud-horse Fisherman who lived in the property. The lovely bedroom has a super king-size bed and plenty of storage, and a fabulous bathroom with roll top bath and shower. Outside to the front is a patio seating area with a lovely pond and water feature, while to the rear, a lawned garden with BBQ and sun loungers, the perfect space to lay back, relax and enjoy the quiet after a day exploring.
    Step outside the property and within 50 yards you are at Stolford Sea front and common land, perfect for dogs and humans to stretch their legs and soak in the sea air along the pebble and sandy beach. The coastal path here leads to Steart Marshes (WWT) a thriving nature reserve a little further on there is the village of Combwich where you can enjoy a pub lunch or in the opposite direction the path takes you to Kilve a place of special scientific interest. For a more traditional seaside atmosphere, head East to Burnham on Sea or Weston Super Mare with the latter having the great pier packed with amusements as well as lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. To the West a short drive takes you to Watchet a pretty harbour town, Dunster with its Castle and Minehead and North Devon with the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Stolford is nestled only a few miles from The Quantock Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Bridgwater and Taunton are within easy reach with its many shops, bars, and restaurants and its train station which has direct links to Bristol, Cardiff and south to Penzance, so you will be spoilt for choice for days out!
