Ideally located for year round holidays and a perfect cosy winter retreat with its wood burner, Enlli is just a short stroll to Llanuwchllyn railway station, home of the Bala Lake railway which offers a scenic journey along the shores of the lake to the lovely town of Bala 5 miles away. Here you will find a fine selection of restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops as well as a leisure centre with a swimming pool.

Snowdonia’s exhilarating outdoor activities and myriad of family attractions including castles, zip wires and narrow gauge railways are all within easy reach. As well as the breathtaking beauty of lake and mountains, the area also offers exciting white-water rafting, golf, cycling, excellent walking and the fabulous sandy beaches of the Cardigan Bay coast, just 23 miles away at Barmouth.

This very attractive, semi-detached, stone-built holiday cottage is situated in the picture-postcard village of Ysbyty Ifan, nestled in the Snowdonia National Park. Ysbyty Ifan is set within the National Trusts Ysbyty Estate with very diverse landscapes and habitats, part of which has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The River Conwy runs through this beautiful, picturesque village which is a haven for wildlife enthusiast and photographers, and ideal for cyclists, walkers and ramblers with walking routes from the door. There is also a children’s play area in the village to keep the children occupied. Keen walkers will enjoy the 6-mile circular route on the Ysbyty Estate to Cwm Eidda walk. In the village, is St John’s Church and is of significant historical importance as it was the birthplace of what we now know as the St John’s Ambulance, and the village was the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln’s great-grandmother.
With stunning, countryside views, Castiel Cottage dates back to c.mid 19th century and retains its original beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplace, with a welcoming wood burner for those cooler evenings and a pretty patio garden where you can relax with a glass of wine on those balmy, sunny days. The popular village of Betws-y-Coed, the ’Gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’ is just 6 miles with shops, cafés, restaurants, waterfalls, pretty river pools and is a haven for mountain bikers with specialist outlets. The Victorian resort of Llandudno and Conwy, as well as the splendour of the Snowdonia National Park are all easily accessible by car. The beautiful Italiantate village of Portmeirion is well worth visiting or take a trip on the the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway, which are both within a 30-minute drive from the cottage. Other places to visit include the popular Riverside Chocolate House at Pentrefoelas and Conwy Falls. There is fun for all the family at the exciting Zip World Fforest, whilst water sports are catered for at Llyn Brenig. If you fancy a spot of surfing at any time of year, look no further than Surf Snowdonia, the world’s first artificial surfing lagoon, located in Dolgarrog in the Conwy Valley. Beach 25 miles. In this location you will also find the Antur Stiniog Mountain Bike Trails, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, this mountain biking centre offers exhilarating trails and stunning views of the landscape.
Portmeirion Village is a short drive away, explore this whimsical Italianate-style village nestled on the coast, famously known for its unique architecture and beautiful gardens. Towards the coast is Harlech Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, this medieval castle offers captivating views of the Cardigan Bay and the surrounding mountains. A cosy Welsh cottage, nestled in a peaceful and idyllic location in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, surrounded by countryside views. The bay window is a lovely spot to enjoy watching the birds. Help yourself to the bird feed, please just replenish what you use so the next guests can enjoy too. It is in a rural location yet there’s a friendly pub only 3 miles away in Penmachno, along with small convenience store that’s open seven days of the week. A few minutes down the road is the Penmachno Bike Trails with 30km of trails suitable for all abilities, managed and set up by local volunteers and funded by donations. There are many walking routes with wonderful scenery to explore, you can even take a wander around the now disused slate quarry a short walk from the cottage, or for the more adventurous, why not delve below and take a tour into the caves with ’Go Below Underground Adventures’?
A short drive of ten minutes will take you to Betws-y-Coed known as the ‘gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’, a popular destination for all age groups. It’s a bustling spot with many highly rated eateries to enjoy, friendly pubs, some fabulous shops selling local items and various outdoor pursuit shops, and a Golf Club which welcomes visitors.
There are some very scenic walks straight from your doorstep, along rivers, waterfalls, Llyn (lake) Elsi sits above the village and is well worth the hike up. Just down the valley from Betws-y-Coed are the famous Marin Bike Trails, with colour coded routes suitable for all abilities. You’ll find a bike hire shop in Betws-y-Coed and at the nearby market town of Llanrwst; here you will also find a larger grocery store. Just up the road from the Marin Bike Trails is Llyn Geirionydd (Geirionydd Lake) this is a wonderful spot for a day out where you can use the lake to take a dip or use your paddle boards and kayaks; there are picnic benches available, parking and toilets.
Tree Top Adventures are nearby where you will find six adventures to choose from, some of which are tree hopping, a forest coaster and skyride (check out their website and be sure to book to avoid disappointment). 20 minutes’ drive from the cottage are Llechwedd Slate Caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog, another great day out for the kids and adults alike, with further activities for all interests such as deep mine tours, underground golf, ziplines and more.

This really is a superb spot for exploring this amazing part of North Wales, where you can enjoy both spectacular mountain scenery and the most amazing beaches, along with a host of family attractions. It really does make a fantastic base from which to explore the Snowdonia National Park whatever time of year, with its cosy wood burning stove and fabulous views.
Pant Du Vineyard is just over half a mile away from the cottage, an absolute must visit whilst here. The many attractions of this area include a narrow gauge steam railway, which winds its way from historic Caernarfon into the heart of the Snowdonia Mountains, and a small airfield for pleasure flights over the area.
Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle, is within easy reach and also offers a fine selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with golf, bike hire and sailing.

Pebble Cottage is a stunning former fisherman’s cottage situated close to the beach front and local amenities in Aberdovey. There isn’t a better location to be for those looking for a seaside escape. Set within the southern reaches of the Snowdonia National Park, excellent for those walkers visiting the area. Aberdovey is a thriving seaside fishing village with brightly painted houses which seem to cling to the shoreline, and has a history dating back hundreds of years. It offers miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches with a fantastic selection of water based activities available including sailing, fishing and windsurfing. Golfers are also well catered for with an 18-hole championship golf course located at the western end of the village, which welcomes visiting players. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the wonderful opportunities for walking and bird watching available in the surrounding area. A myriad of visitor attractions are within easy reach including the Vale of Rheidol Railway, Talyllyn Railway, the Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur’s Labyrinth. Beach 100 yards. Talking of beaches, pack your bucket and spade! There’s miles of idyllic coastline to explore, with picture perfect beaches and dunes you’ll be spoilt for choice. Just down the road you’ll find Harlech home to the imposing UNESCO world heritage site Harlech Castle. Bustling Barmouth is also only a short distance, take a walk along the promenade and indulge in some fish and chips. An iconic feature of the town is Barmouth Bridge, over 150-year-old railway viaduct across the Mawddach Estuary. It is half a mile in length with a wooden promenade suitable for pedestrians or cyclists which now forms part of the Wales Coast Path and the Lon Las Cymru Cycle Network. Nantcol waterfalls are just 5 miles away and offer a great day out, a perfect place for a family picnic whilst playing in the stream. There really is everything you need within a few hundred yards walking distance from the cottage, pubs, restaurants a local shop with bakery and some fabulous independent shops to peruse, not to mention a whole host of outdoor shops.
Only 2 miles away is Llyn (lake ) Elsi, and Llyn Geirionydd is less than 6 miles away, here you can use Kayaks and Paddle boards. The Marin bike trails at Gwydir are less than 4 miles away. Take a walk to the picturesque Swallow Falls only 2 miles from the cottage. Just under 3 miles you can find tree top climbing and a Forest coaster ride! With Zip World and Bounce Bellow at Llechwedd Quarry 20 minutes’ drive an epic experience for any age. For the more intrepid adventurer Pen Y Pass route for mount Snowdon is only 10 miles away, with the more popular Llanberis route 16 miles distance.
Further down the coast less than 30 minutes’ drive, is the walled harbour town of Conwy, home to the smallest house in Britain and the imposing UNESCO world heritage site of Conwy Castle.
