Bring your bucket and spade as the glorious sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn is just a mile down the road and offers superb views over to the Rhinog Mountains. For the more adventurous, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are a thrill seekers delight, whilst the famous Ffestiniog Railway and mighty Harlech Castle are also well worth a visit. From Barmouth, why not hire a bike and cycle across Barmouth Bridge and along the Mawddach Trail to Penmaenpool and Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shops 300 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

Located in the coastal village of Fairbourne, this holiday property has a large lawned garden with great views of the mountains, yet is only a couple of minutes walk from the lovely, quiet, two-mile long sandy beach, over stones. Take a trip on the little Fairbourne Railway out to the headland and cross the Mawddach Estuary by ferry, and visit Barmouth where you can try crabbing in the harbour, or stroll across the famous Barmouth Bridge. Imagine yourself climbing Cader Idris, exploring the ruins of Castell-y-Bere, or riding behind a steam engine on the friendly Talyllyn Railway and hopping off the train to explore the waterfalls at Dolgoch or Nant Gwernol. Visit the pretty market town of Dolgellau, go walking or mountain biking at Coed-Y-Brenin Forest Park, then relax in the garden with a glass of wine, watching the sun set.

Golfers are also well catered for with an 18-hole championship golf course located at the western end of the village, which welcomes visiting players. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the wonderful opportunities for walking and bird watching in the surrounding area. Tucked away in the beautiful village of Bryncrug, Maldwyn is a great holiday home for those hoping to explore the stunning Snowdonia National Park and nearby attractions. Ideally suited for a family or up to six guests, it is the perfect spot to unwind and explore this part of mid Wales. Snowdonia National Park is the region known for its sprawling open lands and mountainous landscape; it is a favourite amongst nature lovers. The ground floor areas, comprise of a cosy living room with brick chimney breast and cosy seating for everyone. A spacious dining room with a nice conservatory to appreciate the views with a morning coffee or somewhere for everyone to congregate in the evening. The kitchen is fully-equipped with all the modern appliances for your stay, and conveniently leading out into the utility and garden areas. There is a ground floor double bedroom, and family bathroom opposite. Upstairs there are two adjoining bedrooms, a double room, as you approach the top of the stairs, and the other offering two full sized twin beds. There’s adequate space for everyone to get together and enjoy this lovely location. To the back of the property is an enclosed garden and patio with garden furniture to indulge in a meal or some star gazing. There is enough parking for up to three cars, conveniently to the right of the house, the approach to the driveway is shared with the neighbours next-door but there is plenty of space for everyone to come in and out.
Maldwyn is located approximately 2-miles from Tywyn. Tywyn has lots of amenities including a leisure centre, restaurants, pubs, independent shops, a great cinema and most importantly a beautiful sandy beach, with views towards Bardsey Island and The Llyn Peninsula. When the tide is out you can walk all the way to Aberdovey. Being only 6 miles from the lovely harbour village of Aberdovey, there is so much on offer there too. Aberdovey is a colourful, harbour resort with a lovely sandy beach and a golf club. It is well-known for its windsurfing, paddle boarding and sailing centre. Fishing trips can be arranged all year round.
Off the beaten track are dozens of public footpaths and spectacular mountain walks in both Tywyn and Aberdovey. The area is a very popular spot during the summer and winter months. For even more outdoor adventure Maldwyn is only 20 minutes’ drive from Cader Idris if you wanted to hike the highest mountain in southern Snowdonia. There’s Bird Rock close by, Dolgoch Falls, and the Mawddach all very close. With countless outdoor pursuits easily accessible locally. Maldwyn is the perfect getaway for your next trip. Trefriw has a vibrant heart, so expect a friendly welcome at the post office/shop, the award-winning butchers, the fantastic working woollen mill, in the two pubs, and in the brasserie and local café. Trefriw is blessed with two of the most spectacular lakes (Geirionydd and Crafnant). Both lakes lie in the most stunning surroundings and offer different facilities. Geirionydd offers watersports for everyone (paddle and powerboating) whilst Crafnant is a much more peaceful environment. The community lead project Trefriw Trails has 8 waymarked trails which are suited to all ages and abilities for walking and cycling.

Nestled in the Conwy valley, just down the road is Betws Y Coed the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. For the adventurous, you’ll find Surf Snowdonia, Tree Top Climbing and the Marin Bike trails of Gwydir Forrest all just a few miles away. In the opposite direction is the National Trust’s Bodnant Gardens, Conwy Vineyard, and the historic walled town of Conwy, which is home to a fabulous harbour and many historic buildings. You will be perfectly situated to explore the region.

Enjoy a holiday at this charming cottage which has been carefully restored to showcase a variety of original features, including a large inglenook fireplace housing a Clearview wood burner. The Ancient Houses Commission recently dendro-chronologically dated the timbers of Hen Dy holiday cottage to be from 1550.
A very good local pub is just a mile away from the cottage on the main road. To the west, the Llyn Peninsula offers many coves, harbours and vast stretches of safe, sandy beaches. Black Rock sands is the closest. The coast path is 84 miles of diverse landscapes including open countryside, wild heath and coastal features.
