To the rear of the property is a garage which is great for putting your mountain bikes or kayaks in for storage.

Slate flooring throughout the downstairs is easily cleaned when little paws leave a trail. The fully enclosed garden has a patio area with table and chairs, giving great views of the Twrch valley and making it a lovely spot to enjoy al fresco meals.     The village has two pubs within 200 metres of the cottage serving good quality food, one of which is also dog friendly. This wonderful cottage lies at the crossroads of four areas of natural beauty; For the walkers out there, the Black Mountain is quite literally out of the gate and onto any one of 3 footpaths, 2 of which follow the Affon Twrch all the way up the mountain the 3rd follows the Nant Gyws on the other side of the ridge. Just 25 miles to the northeast you will find Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons and 20 miles away to the southwest lies Swansea Bay, the Mumbles and the stunning Gower coastline with its internationally renowned beaches. The epic and romantic castles of Carmarthenshire lie just to the north, whilst the hauntingly beautiful Vale of Neath, and its waterfalls, lie very close by to the east. The National Show Caves for Wales are approximately 10 miles from the property and make a fantastic day out. Bike Park Wales is about a 30-minute drive east from the property at Merthyr Tydfil and Afan Forest Mountain Bike Trails are 30-minutes south, close to Neath, with masses of trails for mountain bike enthusiasts.
